so a group of us guildies were in sorrows furnace doing FA and not once, not twice, but three times the minnions turned on us. The first time we though that they added veratace gaze to the necro guys (but there wasn't a necro in the mob). The second time we asked in alliance chat if anyone else was experiencing an issue and one person mentioned it happened once in AB. So this thread is basically here to point out that there is an issue with minnions turning on the group. And no the MM didn't leave and no he wasn't using gaze and to my knowledge none of the necros in sorrows used it either. Anyone else experiencing any mm issues like this? I did a search and didn't find anything here on guru.

When did this happen?
I was with guildies in urgozz yesterday and the MM was alone with no monsters in the range and the minions turned on him and killed him.

This weekend also. Luckly the mm had me to heal him, but they turned and nuked him till we killed them. It seemed to happen after we killed a mob, but I think once it happened while fighting a mob.

Perhaps your necro is using veretas aura. When it ends the MM loses control of all their minions.

not using aura, especially concidering there aren't any mm enemies in sorrows.

Its very easy to put the wrong skill on the bar when they have simmilar names. Also your MM may be new and not know that he is using the wrong vereta skill.

If the minion master died once, he may have used verata's to regain control of his unleashed horde and then they turned on him after it released. Just another possibility but without the MMs exact skill layout, death record, etc. it is hard to tell. This happening in AB is very common since Verata's is everywhere.

Ok...given the posts that occurred as I typed...some revision. Just using Verata's even if you don't die will cause your minions to eventually rebel once it expires. Thus, it is possible with no deaths for them to still turn on the MM.

I saw this in AB last night. Not sure what caused it. After we caped a target with no red dots in sight they just turned and attacked the Necro. Fortunately there were just 4 of em however the Necro was cussing up a storm over it.

Well, I MM'd through tombs yesterday and had no problems... so I'd say either you or your MM is confused about something, because a glitch like this doesn't just go by unoticed with hundreds of thousands of MM's playing...

Yeah, very true, you can totally get them mixed up. But he's been an mm for quite sometime and plenty of times during a heal i saw him use sacrafice (never saw him use aura). Also, if he was using aura we'd of had that problem during the whole run (every 3 minutes or something like that, i forget) and instead it happened very randomly. I guess he could of had aura on his skill bar, but i've gone down with him plenty and this didn't happen.

Happened to me today. and I KNOW I didn't use Veretas. I was just standing there, hadn't used any skills, and they just attacked.

I'll see if I can get them to do it again, and get a screenie.

Yeah he mm'd right after in tombs with us and it never happened the whole run, although we anticipated it might , so he ended up bringing aura instead of nova, just in case

Another side note on Verata's Aura:
You can keep it up continuously unless you forget or you have your enchantment ripped/drained/etc. I would guess the enchant ripping is more likely for an experienced MM. However, without the skill bar it is hard to say though the likelihood is much lower since he is an experienced MM.

Maybe I'll test my MM tonight in the area and see if I can get such an error to occur.

Yeah that's it 312 seconds i think. So, with that said, duing sorrows or even tombs, the minnions you had accidently used aura on would have been long dead (unless you just kept recasting on new ones). I'm not even sure when it happens or what the trigger is, but they just turned. With as much enchtment stripping going on in both places (tombs and sf), you'd think if they were using aura they'd be turning all the time. Not sure if it's in a specific place either (like just sf and/or AB), it's just so random.
